Illamasqua Blush Duo Review – Duo 3 Beg & Bronzerella

For some time I have been eyeing up items from the Illamasqua cosmetics brand, but had never really pushed through with actually buying anything. This is mostly because their price points are a little on the high side for a student, and as an Estee Lauder girl I have been spending most my time at their counters instead. The almost gothic kind of vibe this brand gives off, along with their unusual advertising campaigns are no accident either, as the brand is the baby of Joseph Corre, son of Vivienne Westwood and co-founder of Agent Provocateur. Three new blush duos were released not so long ago- Below are colours  Katie & Ambition described as a neutral and candy pink, and Lover & Hussy described as a soft apricot and candy pink illa

The one I bought was Beg & Bronzerella which is described as a dusky rose and copper bronze. I thought this would suit my skin tone best (you can see details of my About section if you are similar and looking for something that would suit you). Illamasqua claims the blush duo’s are highly pigmented, and can be used to shade, brighten, enhance and contour.

Verdit : Totally in love with this blush as the colour payoff is incredible. Due to the high pigment, the only thing I would advise is to be careful in your application and choice of brush. I’m definitely going to have to buy a new brush so that I can apply this without the colour coming off too strong. A little bit goes a long way and a light hand should do the trick. This applies to the bronzer especially, which can easily double up as an eyeshadow too.

The only drawback I have is the shape of the case. It’s great that it comes with a mirror, but the corners aren’t ideal for throwing in my makeup bag. However I can overlook that due to the quality of the product. Overall rating? 9/10
